Farmers' Markets
Fairview Gardens has been selling at local farmers' markets for over 20 yars. Today the average meal travels thousands of miles from the field to the plate, but at Fairview Gardens we sell the majority of our food within walking distance of our fields.
Direct sale of food at farmers' markets has many social and environmental advantages over the traditional broker style food system. Our produce is sold fresh; picked at the peak of ripeness; and sold in the same community in which it is grown. At a time when commercial food production requires aprroximately 8.5 Calories for energy for every Calorie of food produced, Fairview Gardens is dedicated to finding a better way.
